Visiting the Exhibition

Tonight I took a friend to see the "so far" exhibition at around 8pm. I have been informed by the art director that visitors are only welcome up until 9pm.

Anyway the atmosphere was very peaceful with only a couple of other visitors and I thought it was great time to check out everybodies work without distraction and realised some very interesting details which I previously overlooked.

Following this satisfaction I would recommend that students give it a second look before Fridays eviction..

Opening Day!

Hey there,
Currently I'm waiting for my dinner to cook,
I guess i'm running a little bit late because I promised I would be back at the exhibition for 4.00pm to help Donata rehearse her Performance.
Anyway I feel a bit excited, The Crits went well and resulted in some change which ultimately benefited the exhibition.

I just want to thank anyone who copied our URL from the exhibition and has since found this blog.

SOME MORE VIDEOS COMING SOON, I am going to produce more goods soon.. plenty to work with!

Don't worry be happy

After so much stressing I guess we could all do with a good laugh:

Filling the space

Cheesy video hey..
The migration is well underway, lots of drills, lots of floating things, lots of drawings, lots of random malark.

Much discussion, lots of curators randomly picking work up and moving it about.
Well done to Michael for organising the van and getting them to move faster.
Well done to whoever thought of splitting the gallery into 4 corners.
Thanks to anyone who gives me there time and thoughts to record. If anyone has anything they'd particularly like to put out there just let me know.
Some pretty cool stuff at the space, look forward to seeing the rest and getting more peopls to express their views.

Back from Daytona beach

Well now that we are back from surfing it up at Daytona I guess it's time to get this show on the road and thanks to Michael we have a van and driver to take our work on the road. At some point tomorrow everything must be complete or else the curators are going to start destroying people and in some cases themselves So get the work produced or I'll have nothing to document but the chalked outline where your body used to be.
Todays updates include; A Polish potato emerged from nowhere, A Rhino foot is now going to hold up a skyscraper, The world has been measured and is equal to about 999 billion hands or however much Louise told me, tomorrow morning toolkits are available at workshop from Nicola and I found out the roof is made from concrete so does anyone have any 50-100 millmetre hammer fixings?...
There is a currently a merger between Documentation groups taking place so stay tuned to find more video's which will possibly be better than the one below.. SO....

Sneak Preview from "So Far, the Documentary"

Day 10

A never-been-seen-before student sits in our studio constantly moaning about first year studies to Donata (who in comparison holds a very positive view towards first year)
Before this meeting of day and night there was a meeting of group 3/4 resources team. Main subjects - "who's supplying the wine?!"  "Who's sponsoring us?" and "the lack of communication" between resource and marketing groups.
To my relief Hlynur did not kill anybody on this occasion.
There is still some confusion as to whether work has to be done by Monday or Tuesday..
Donata has been rehearsing her performance at artspace while I'm still gluing wire to my dummy

Paper Bowls and Paper heads

Day 9 In the big first year studies house, The house is quiet as the majority of students choose to party on Daytona beach. Mary Claire is in the studio, she takes 1000 photos of other studiomates doing mundane things.
Hlynur frantically searches for other resource people, injurying 2 security guards and killing one cleaner in the process.
Ali, Anna and Tasos are in Pothouse 5 discussing what they would choose to improve themselves. Tasos chooses not to be so glum while also having a larger thing-me-jiggy.
Jade is in Pot house 6 wondering how to work on expressing her confusion about the briefs "So Far"
Joze makes a brief appearance only to take his lovely skyscraper away and give it a new coat.
Louise makes a late appearance to unveal her impressive steelwork.
Helvetica inspires Amy towards a font wonderland while I paint a dummy blue and fill it with wires..

So far so fucking good...

My Seventh Day Saga

I would just like to document on my latest quarrel with one of group 3/4's curators Joze Hicks. Yes It came to my attention this afternoon that Joze believes my piece although well underway should be half the size and therefore I should probably just cut it in half. I was informed that the curators had agreed that work should be "no larger than a human, no smaller than a mouse"(pity they didn't tell us) while the rules list just said "be realistic"
Anyway I hope the curators can come to a better conclusion which at least has evidence to promote that my piece is too large for our exhibition rather than just assuming everybody should be making art 2ft x 2ft like Joze.
